TSAVORITE FROM MERELANI – GREEN GARNET ON NATURAL MATRIX
This extraordinary tsavorite crystal cluster comes from the famous mineral mining area of Merelani in Tanzania and captivates with its beautiful green crystals on a dark, metallic-shimmering rock matrix.
The numerous crystal sections display various shades of green, ranging from delicate mint green and bright emerald green to vibrant dark green.
Particularly fascinating is the intense contrast between the partially translucent green crystals and the dark gray to black matrix.
Numerous small crystal faces reflect the light and give the cluster a vivid, sparkling surface.
A special collector's item with an extraordinary natural mineral combination.

WHAT IS TSAVORITE?
Tsavorite is a green variety of grossular garnet. Its characteristic green color is caused primarily by small amounts of chromium and vanadium within the crystal lattice.
While highly transparent tsavorites are often processed into faceted gemstones, naturally grown crystal clusters are primarily of interest to mineral collectors.
They show the original crystal forms and provide a fascinating insight into the natural formation of this mineral.
THE FAMOUS MERELANI HILLS
The Merelani Hills in northern Tanzania are among the most internationally renowned gemstone mining areas in Africa.
The region is particularly famous for its extraordinary tanzanite deposits. In addition, numerous other minerals are found there, including beautiful green grossular garnets.
The special geological conditions of the deposit allow for the formation of a wide variety of crystal shapes and fascinating mineral combinations.
