Sugilite is one of the most valuable gemstones, yet it has not been known for very long. It was named after the mineralogist Dr. K. Sugi, who discovered it in 1944.

The gemstone Sugilite is special among healing stones. Its interesting coloration, radiance, and the positive life energy that Sugilite emits make this stone a small individual treasure for every user. In addition, there is the sometimes high price, which makes Sugilite an overall extraordinary specimen in the world of gemstones.
Sugilite is often referred to as a "New Age Stone" because it is said to warn of the end of the world. It was supposedly found in Africa where the cradle of mankind is presumed to be. It is said that at this very spot, it was brought forth from the earth's interior by the power of all planets to protect people from the evil rays of the cosmos, from diseases, and megalomania.

Sugilite is a stone that often appears together with other substances, such as Aegirine and Albite, as well as Quartz.
