Sugilite is one of the most valuable gemstones, yet it has only been known for a short time. It was named after the mineralogist Dr. K. Sugi, who discovered it in 1944.

The gemstone Sugilite is a special case among healing stones. Its interesting color, radiance, and the positive life energy that Sugilite emits make this stone a small individual treasure for every user. Added to this is the sometimes high price, which makes Sugilite an exceptionally rare specimen in the world of gemstones.
Sugilite is often referred to as a "New Age Stone" because it is believed to warn of the end of the world. It was supposedly found in the place in Africa where the cradle of humanity is believed to be. It is said to have been brought from the interior of the earth by the power of all planets at this very location to protect people from the evil rays of the cosmos, from diseases and megalomania.

Sugilite is a stone that often appears together with other substances, such as Aegirine and Albite, as well as Quartz.
