Exceptionally large and extremely detailed mineral specimen from the famous Madan mining district in Bulgaria.

This impressive specimen is almost completely covered in countless fine white to partially transparent quartz crystals and rock crystals. The crystals grow densely packed in various directions, forming a fascinating, almost frost- or coral-like crystal carpet across the entire surface.

Deep black areas of zinc blende (sphalerite) emerge time and again between the bright quartz crystals. It is precisely this strong contrast between the black sphalerite sections and the bright, partially transparent quartz that makes the specimen visually particularly appealing.

In addition to the countless smaller crystals, there are also larger, more clearly defined rock crystals that protrude from the dense crystal growth and provide additional highlights.

The enormous surface structure of the specimen is particularly impressive: almost every area is crystallized. The numerous ridges, depressions, and extensions make the piece appear different from every angle and invite you to discover new details again and again.

With a size of approximately 150 × 140 × 50 mm and a weight of 593 g, it is a magnificent cabinet-sized specimen that immediately catches the eye in any mineral collection.
