Gemstones and crystals have a variety of effects as healing stones, chakra stones, lucky stones, ritual stones or protective stones.
Purpurite's name is derived from the Latin "purpureus," which translates as "purple." It was named after its color by mineralogists Graton and Schaller in 1905. Purpurite is very expensive due to its rarity and is rarely used as a gemstone due to its low hardness.
Purpurite is one of the most important healing stones of all. An overview and description of the most important gemstones can be found in the article "Top Healing Stones." Our comprehensive gemstone encyclopedia even contains over 400 healing stones with images, which can be searched by color, origin, effect, meaning, zodiac sign, etc.

When you first start exploring the topic of crystals and gemstones, it can be a bit overwhelming at first. What makes these small and large energy stones so special? Which one is right for me, and what are its known effects? And what do I do with them? Don't worry, we felt the same way when we first started. The first thing you need to know: You can't really go wrong. Gemstones can be easily integrated into your everyday life.
Gemstones are considered powerful companions, especially in a time when we spend most of our days staring at small screens. We quickly forget the world around us and feel disconnected—from nature, our fellow human beings, and ultimately ourselves.
Even if it's easy to forget it with their dazzling colors and unusual cuts, gemstones originate from nature. They form from magma in the Earth's interior or from high pressure on a rock, and can transfer this energy to us. It often takes many millennia for a stone to penetrate the Earth's surface.
The stone you are ultimately holding in your hands is many years older and carries a great deal of wisdom and power. Let this thought ground you, arrive in the moment, and look not only to the future, but also to what has already happened. Only in this way can we learn.
Whether you just wear your new companion and let it work its magic on you or use it for rituals and ceremonies is now in your hands.
We at Art of Nature Berlin wish you much joy with this natural treasure :)
