~Palo Santo (Bulnesia arborea) from Peru~
5g/10g/20g
5g is a small piece as shown on hand.
Our Palo Santo is sustainably grown, from a direct source in Peru - it is also the highest quality available in Peru - the purchase price is 3x as high as the "standard quality"!
They were also made by a company that attaches great importance to sustainability and worker insurance - so they are ethically high-quality and fair Palo Santo woods.
In addition, the wood is duty paid & VAT is included - the price is calculated fairly including shipping, packaging, working time & high deductions from Etsy and the tax office - anyone who only buys 5g tends to pay a higher price than from other providers - but also receives it a fabulous quality and pays for sustainability.
Wonderful quality, it ignites perfectly and smells very fresh and intense - as usual, a high-quality smoking product.
Palo Santo (Bulnesia arborea) (Spanish palo santo "holy wood") belongs to the Zygophyllaceae family.
Palo Santo is considered a panacea. Above all, it has a digestive and calming effect. It is also used for asthma, bronchitis and to increase the immune system. Palo Santo is said to have great healing powers and to drive away evil spirits and negative energies of all kinds.
Its use among the Indian population dates back thousands of years. It is said that evil spirits shy away from the characteristic scent of the resin contained in the wood, whereas good spirits find it pleasant.
In Peru, this 'holy' wood is used to aid in the healing of illnesses and to purify the air. To do this, chips of the wood are lit, the flame is simply waved out (not blown out, as this drives away the good spirits!) and the dwelling place is then fumigated with the glowing chip.
When the wood is burned, a smoke is created that has a number of spiritual properties and is therefore ideal for meditation, relaxation, harmony in intimate relationships or in tense situations within the family. The magical smoke can also be used to rid our house, room, office etc. of negative energies. The scent of Palo Santo smells uniquely sweet and woody. The aroma is reminiscent of an intoxicating combination of sweet incense, Atlas cedar, sweet grass, lemon, eucalyptus and a delicate hint of mint.
Palo Santo trees are not cut down! They do not produce oil when they are felled or when they are sick. Oil is only produced when a healthy tree dies and the branches come into contact with the ground.
This process is very symbolic - rebirth after death - or: the resurrection!

Smoking with herbs, resins or spices is an ancient custom that has long been widespread in many cultures. Celts smoked incense on their home altars, in the Orient a particularly pronounced scent and incense culture developed in honor of the gods, and Indian tribes in America strived for healing and harmony with nature. While in the Western world it is mainly about aromatizing rooms and changing the atmosphere, in shamanism incense is used for other purposes: There, targeted incense with certain herbs is intended to bring about a change in the state of consciousness and enable a connection to other worlds. In the Catholic Church, incense scents are still an integral part of religious rituals today
You are completely free "for what" you smoke incense, whether to cleanse your personal environment of negative energies, for a deep ritual with beings from other planets, to heal your body, to enjoy the senses and to relax or just to work. ..it is entirely up to you what you use these effective herbs for, which had their foundation among the North American Indians, the “Native Americans”, and the Indian culture.
Generally, people smoke and steam to achieve certain effects. Be it to recover from a depressive mood by smoking incense, to ground yourself with appropriate substances or to simply feel good.
Smoking is often a meditative work that you give to yourself. The smoke and the scent surround the body and mind and we can surrender ourselves.
Active ingredients from herbs, woods, resins and everything else that can be smoked usually find their way into the body through the skin and, more rarely, as is assumed, through the nose.
Lightly steaming a plant's active ingredient can have its effect on the organism without smelling great. “Less is more” can hold a lot of truth when it comes to steaming.
