Exceptional large multi-mineral collector's specimen from Madan, Bulgaria, featuring pyrite, sphalerite, quartz, and chalcopyrite – an impressive museum-grade piece with an enormous abundance of crystals.

The numerous, excellently developed pyrite crystals are particularly dominant. They appear as strong gold to brass-colored, partly distinct cubic crystals and cover large areas of the specimen. Many of the cubes exhibit striking natural growth striations on their faces and possess an intense metallic luster.

Between the pyrite crystals are dark to almost black crystals of sphalerite. They form a strong contrast to the gold-colored ore minerals and lend the specimen additional depth.

Large areas of the matrix are also covered with white to colorless quartz. Fine quartz crystals and crystal druses partially surround the ore minerals like a bright crystalline landscape, accentuating the three-dimensional structure of the piece.

In addition, numerous chalcopyrite crystals are present. These display gold, bronze, and, in some places, slightly iridescent metallic tones, providing an exceptionally varied play of color together with the pyrite.
