Sugilite is one of the most valuable gemstones, but it has only been known for a short time. It was named after the mineralogist Dr. K. Sugi, who discovered it in 1944.

The gemstone Sugilite represents a special feature among healing stones. The interesting coloring, the charisma and the positive life energy that a Sugilite radiates, make this stone a small individual treasure for every user. Added to this is the sometimes high price, which makes a Sugilite an overall exceptional specimen in the world of gemstones.
Sugilite is often also called "New Age Stone" because it is supposed to warn of the end of the world. It is said to have been found in Africa where the cradle of mankind is suspected. Exactly at this place it is said to have been brought from the interior of the earth by the power of all planets to protect people from the evil rays of the cosmos, from diseases and megalomania.

Sugilite is a stone that often appears together with other substances, such as aegirine and albite, as well as quartz.
