Gold from Zlaté Hory – a historic gold mining district

Zlaté Hory translates to "Golden Mountains" and is one of the traditional gold-bearing regions of Central Europe.

Gold was sought in this region as early as the Middle Ages. Over the centuries, it developed into a significant mining area where various other ores were extracted alongside gold.

In this region, natural gold occurs, among other things, in quartz veins and mineralized rocks.

Today, gold specimens from Zlaté Hory are interesting collector's items that fascinate both for their mineralogical properties and their historical origin.
