What is Eucryptite?

Eucryptite is a naturally occurring lithium aluminum silicate that forms particularly in lithium-rich pegmatites.

Its name is derived from Greek and literally means "well concealed." This refers to its often inconspicuous appearance within other minerals.

The mineral can exhibit a striking pink to reddish fluorescence under short-wave UV light. This property has not yet been verified for this specimen.

The Famous Bikita Mining Region

The Bikita pegmatites in Zimbabwe are among the most significant lithium mineral deposits in Africa.

Various lithium-bearing minerals occur in this region, including eucryptite, petalite, and spodumene.

The diverse mineral composition makes Bikita an interesting collecting area for mineral enthusiasts.

A Natural One-of-a-Kind Piece

You will receive exactly the eucryptite specimen pictured, measuring 19 × 16 × 13 mm, along with the included locality label.
