Cuproadamite – Deep green crystal cluster from Tsumeb, Namibia | 40 mm
This exceptional cuproadamite specimen comes from the famous Tsumeb mine in Namibia and impresses with its intensely green, glass-like lustrous crystals.
Numerous densely intergrown crystals cover large parts of the natural rock matrix. Particularly impressive is the interplay of different shades of green: from vibrant emerald green to deep, almost black bottle green.
The partially transparent crystal areas reflect light from different directions, making the surface sparkle beautifully.
Light green mineral sections and the brownish rock matrix form a fascinating contrast to the dark green crystals.
With a size of 40 × 21 mm and a weight of 20.4 grams, this specimen is an attractive collector's item from one of Africa's most famous historic mineral localities.

What is cuproadamite?
Cuproadamite is a historical mineralogical term for copper-bearing adamite.
The copper content can give the mineral its characteristic green coloration.
Many of the green crystals from Tsumeb formerly referred to as cuproadamite are now mineralogically classified as zincolivenite.
An exact distinction requires chemical analysis. The labeling of this specimen corresponds to the existing original label.
The famous Tsumeb mine
The historic Tsumeb mine in northern Namibia is among the most significant mineral localities in the world.
It is internationally renowned for its extraordinary variety of mineral species and colorful crystal formations.
The unique geological conditions of the deposit enabled the formation of numerous copper, zinc, and lead minerals.
The intensely green crystal specimens, in particular, are among the most fascinating collector's items from this tradition-steeped locality.
