OPAL

Pliny the Elder, a prominent scholar from ancient Rome, was already captivated by the wonderful effect and radiance of the opal: "For it has an inner fire of its own – it possesses the purple spark of the amethyst, the sea-green of the emerald, and an altogether incredible mixture of light." This stone enchants with its very special shimmer: the luminous play of color known as opalescence...

The History of the Opal
The word "opal" originates from Latin – "opalus" means something like 'precious stone', though there is also a derivation from Sanskrit, which has not been scientifically proven. Opals have always been considered highly valuable gemstones, which in some cases were even valued higher than diamonds. It is no wonder, therefore, that opals were traded as very special stones in antiquity and ancient India and were popular for their positive effect on the human soul.
The Effect of the Opal
On a physical level, the shimmering opal automatically ensures more joy, more harmony, and more balance with its positive effect. It promotes our eyesight, has a balancing effect on sexual disorders, and strengthens the digestive tract: food can be processed faster and better, which also boosts metabolism and helps shed pounds. On a psychological level, the opal has a harmonizing, calming, and mood-lifting effect, which is why it can be helpful for dejection and mood swings. And the black opal is not just an extremely valuable and coveted stone due to its rarity: it is also said to possess downright mystical powers that enable our mind to see many things more clearly – mediumistically gifted people are also supported in their clairvoyance by the black opal.

The opal unfolds its effect best on the throat chakra. On an astrological level, it is assigned to the zodiac signs Aquarius, Cancer, Sagittarius, and Pisces. To enjoy your piece of jewelry for a long time, you should never place opals in the sun, as they dry out extremely quickly, which leads to rapid fading of the stones. Opals are also very sensitive to acids, soaps, makeup, or perfume. It is best to spray opals with water once a month. To discharge, simply rinse regularly under lukewarm running water and then recharge for a few hours with a rock crystal! Opal necklaces should be discharged once a month overnight in a bowl of hematite tumbled stones and recharged with a rock crystal.
With its intense plays of color, the fire opal gemstone captivates with breathtaking multifaceted richness. In the meaning of the fire opal, these beautiful colored stones bestow strength, promote creativity, and ignite sensual desire.

For thousands of years, people have used the positive energies of gemstones to alleviate physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental problems. The stones transmit their positive vibrations and are also used as protective aids or lucky charms. In particular, the fire opal healing stone is a balancing colored stone that brings spontaneity, provides vitality, and encourages the implementation of new ideas.

"The Boulder Opal comes from the Queensland region in Australia. More precisely, the Boulder Opal is found in the southwest of Queensland, in Quilpie, Yowah, and Eromanga.
The sedimentary rock in this region dates back to the Cretaceous period. The rock thus originates from a time that began around 145 million years ago with the end of the Jurassic and ended about 66 million years ago with the beginning of the Paleogene. Through weathering processes over the course of time – well into the Tertiary period – silicic acid was released from the marine sludge with its microorganisms, which deposited in the impermeable rock crevices and cracks. The constant alternation of moisture and subsequent evaporation eventually led to the solidification of the silicic acid and thus to the beautiful opal."
