We are introducing one of our newest and rarest stones in our shop ~ BOULDER OPAL ~ including a 1.5mm antique brown leather cord for tying.
One of the most unique donuts on the entire global stone market!
Much more beautiful in person than in the photos, the purple shimmers very strongly, as does the green-blue spot, green flecks on the back with typical opal patterns, a truly beautiful piece

Size: 39 x 8 mm (very thick!)

It has many opalescent rare patterns & veins - it glows with many opalescent colors
This Boulder Opal donut from Queensland (Australia) is AAA quality - it is perfectly cut & polished - rarely have I seen such a wonderful rarity :)
Also very large & thick - shatterproof!

Donuts are the most complex stone shape to produce & each one is hand-cut!

Origin of Boulder Opal

"Boulder opal comes from the Queensland region of Australia. More specifically, boulder opal can be found in southwestern Queensland, in Quilpie, Yowah, and Eromanga.
The sedimentary rock in this region dates back to the Cretaceous period. The rock therefore originates from a time that began approximately 145 million years ago with the end of the Jurassic and ended about 66 million years ago with the beginning of the Paleogene. Through weathering processes, over time - well into the Tertiary period - silica was released from the marine muds with its microorganisms, which then deposited in the impermeable rock fissures and cracks. The constant alternation of moisture and subsequent evaporation finally led to a solidification of the silica and thus to the beautiful opal."
