Labradorite

Labradorite owes its name to the Canadian Labrador Peninsula, where it was first found in 1770. Because of its shimmering colors, the stone is not only used to decorate magnificent buildings; many art objects and beautiful jewelry are also made from labradorite. Iridescent like a magnificent peacock feather. Labradorite is a very special stone.

Labradorite forms either igneously in dunite, gabbros, basalt and anorthosite or metamorphically in amphibolite.


As a gemstone that has now become rare, labradorite (also called spectrolite) is a colorful lucky charm. It often combines many colors and shimmers in numerous facets. It is a stone that should not be used in combination with others.

It is recommended to clean the labradorite under lukewarm running water after use. It should then be placed in a mineral water bowl in the clear morning air to recharge. It can also be discharged in a dry bowl of hematite tumbled stones and then charged in a rock crystal group.
