The Schörl is the only tourmaline from whose power children, women and men can benefit to the same extent. It is rightly considered the strongest and best protective stone for the body and soul.
It helps you to separate yourself from the outside world and to resolve your own confusions. This creates clarity and relief for the overheated mind.
Schörl is a wonderful companion in your professional life if you want to use your mental skills in a focused, clear and efficient manner. It promotes logical and rational thinking and frees you from unnecessary pondering and mental excesses.
At the same time, this clarity and the small portion of pragmatism ensures inner sovereignty and increases your own healthy, self-confident demeanor.
Black tourmaline has been known as a mineral in Europe since ancient times. The name Schörl for the black tourmaline appeared for the first time around 1500, while the name tourmaline was only mentioned for the first time around 1636. Tourmaline black is still known today as Schörl. Originally the name Schörl meant "unclean, useless ore", as black tourmaline in particular ran through valuable ores.
Tourmaline black, also called Schörl, is created exclusively through volcanic activity. The main areas where tourmaline (black) is found are in Brazil, Madagascar and Afghanistan. Black tourmaline is often grown together with various types of quartz, orthoclase, albite or various types of mica. The crystal formation of black tourmaline can be quite versatile. In black tourmaline, tufted crystals, radial formations, as well as confusingly composed crystal turf or float steps occur. Dense masses - without any crystal formation - also occur with tourmaline (black).
The black tourmaline consists mainly of sodium, iron and aluminum, fluorine, hydrogen, oxygen and boron. The composition of the Schörl can vary depending on where it was found. Occasionally calcium, chromium, lithium, magnesium, manganese or titanium also occur - all of these elements give the black tourmaline a kind of personal touch, depending on where it was found.
