Apatite gemstone necklace including 2mm leather cord in antique brown for knotting.
When you start looking into the topic of crystals and gemstones, it can be a little overwhelming at first. What makes the small and large energy stones so special? Which one is right for me and what effect is it known for? And then what do I do with it? Don't worry, we felt the same way at the beginning. The first thing you need to know: You can't really do anything wrong. Gemstones can be easily integrated into your everyday life.
Gemstones are considered powerful companions, especially at a time when we spend most of our day looking at small screens. We quickly forget the world around us and feel separated - from nature, our fellow human beings and ultimately ourselves.
Even if you quickly forget it with the dazzling colors and extraordinary cuts: gemstones come from nature. They arise from magma inside the earth or through high pressure on a rock and can transfer this energy to us. It often takes many thousands of years for a stone to penetrate the earth's surface.
The stone you finally hold in your hands is many years older and carries a lot of wisdom and power. Let this thought ground you, arrive in the moment and look not only to the future, but also to what has already been. This is the only way we can learn.
Whether you just wear your new companion and let it work on you ~ or use it for rituals and ceremonies is now in your hands.
The name apatite comes from ancient Greek (apatáo) and means something like “to deceive” or “to deceive”. Abraham Gottlob Werner, a German geologist, coined this name and based it on the fact that apatite looks very similar to other stones, such as topaz or beryl.
Apatite is also known under the following names:
Abukumalite, Augustite, Belovite, Britolite, Davisonite, Dahlite, Dehrnite, Ellestadite, Francolite, Collophane, Lewistonite, Mangualdite, Moroxite, Nauruite, Podolite, Phosphorite, Queryct, Sombrerit, Asparagusstein, Staffelite or Wilkeit.
Mineralogy and formation of apatite
Apatite is a generic term for a group of minerals that share a chemical similarity. They consist of minerals and trace elements such as magnesium, iron, phosphate, fluorine or calcium and are divided into fluorapatite, chlorapatite and hydroxyapatite. The mode of formation can be divided into primary, secondary or tertiary or into liquid-magmatic, pneumatolytic or hydrothermal. In alpine fissures, apatite develops tabular, spherical to prismatic crystals or a water-clear surface. It can also form in cellular feldspars and appears there as a small, brilliant diamond.
Apatite application
As a healing stone, apatite best develops its effect by placing it on the throat chakra. It can also be used on the heart chakra. Here it is used in meditation for past life regression, it also provides warmth and balance and helps to deal with problems.
With apatite, direct physical contact is the priority, which means that it is placed on the affected part of the body over a longer period of time. But be careful, raw stones often have very sharp edges and are therefore excluded from treatment. The so-called tumbled stones are more suitable; due to their nature, they feel pleasant and comfortable on the skin. The healing stone can also be placed in drinking water and thus enter the body. It is also possible to use gemstone water externally. Overall, apatite is considered a very tolerable healing stone whose effects become quite intense when used regularly.
Effect of apatite
Apatite is said to have healing powers primarily because it contains minerals that are also found in the human body. It can work on both a physical and a mental level.
Effect on the body
The principle of action with regard to the human body is based on the substance contained in apatite, phosphate. The healing stone can help to mobilize energy sources and reserves. It is intended to contribute to healthy sleeping and eating habits. It helps to utilize food better and, thanks to its calcium phosphate, promotes the absorption of calcium from daily food. Overall, the stone helps to generate more life energy by promoting regeneration of the body. In addition, apatite has a positive influence on the kidneys and urinary bladder. It can also be used as a supportive therapeutic agent for numerous complaints that affect the joints, bones, neck, skin or digestion.
Effect on the mind and the spiritual level
Apatite has a similar effect on the psyche as it does on the body. It can help to reactivate the flow of energy and is effective for lethargy, melancholy, lack of desire and interest, states of exhaustion and listlessness. It can also have a positive effect on sadness, grief and worries. Apatite is therefore a real comforter for the soul, which is particularly suitable as an additional measure for depression. On a mental level, it is a useful supporter in overcoming challenges and difficulties and in solving problems. It helps to see things more clearly, but also to work with more intellectual vision and creativity.
Apatite chakras and zodiac sign assignment
Chakra therapy or chakra meditation is based on the assumption that gemstones, for example, have powerful energy. There are a total of seven main chakras, which have a special vibration frequency and help to channel valuable energy into the body and resolve energy blockages. The apatite can be assigned to the throat and heart chakras and does its full energy work there. The corresponding constellation of the main stone is Sagittarius. It gives people with this constellation better self-esteem, reduces inhibitions and helps to find and maintain inner balance.
