The Andean opal, as its name suggests, comes from the Andes of Peru, has a hardness of 6 to 7 and belongs to the opal quartz family. It comes in the colors pink, blue-green, brown and white, and the differently colored stones are also said to have different properties.

The stone already had a special meaning for the Incas and Aztecs: an eye of the gods that they left behind when they left the earth. From the perspective of these ancient tribes, it was a stone of hope, a reminder in times of war that people, animals and nature belong together in harmony.
