The name diopside is derived from Greek. “Di” means “two” and “opsis” stands for appearance and sight. The combination of both terms describes the so-called birefringence of light in diopside. Incident light rays are split into two partial rays.

This is how you care for, charge and discharge the diopside healing stone
To discharge negative information and energies, the diopside is placed in a bowl with hematite tumbled stones. It is cleaned and rinsed approximately every four weeks under lukewarm water. It is dried with a soft cloth and then placed in the sun to charge. The energy of the direct midday sun is the ideal environment for the diopside.
